STLC

SLTC plans to donate books to libraries, elementary schools, hospitals, and shelters. We also want to hold workshops at local libraries where we would read to children to plant a seed of interest so they're motivated to take that extra step to grab a book and well, read it! We hope to achieve this goal with the help of our community, and most importantly, you!

With the Covid-19 pandemic going on, SLTC plans on holding book drives, and then donating them to local homeless shelters and children’s hospitals. SLTC has educated students about gaps in literacy as well the importance of it through their Instagram account and website. Being educated on the matter is an important step we all can take toward supporting the spread of literacy. We’ve also supported other non-profits that reach at risk populations during the current pandemic

THE MYRIAD NEWS

After meeting through The Experiment in International Living, a month-long summer abroad program which focused on the study of international relations and the European Union, the founders bonded over their collective fascination and passion for learning more about foreign policy and world politics. Through meeting political members of the EU, it also came to their understanding that American news outlets do not cover world politics and foreign news as much as we would like. Many friends and family were amazed at how much they learned when we returned from the trip. This is why The Myriad's mission is to inform, educate, and inspire its readers through political writing.
